Watching the news and listening to talk shows, all conservative of course, so far I haven't seen much talk of "get those EVIL guns off the streets". But they are inching up, making those lists of all the recent shootings.
Have heard of Obamma saying he is watching and I am sure he is taking it all in. Right now his administration has their hands full just trying to survive the financial meltdown. If/when the economy starts to stabilize, and they have more time on their hands, look OUT. He will be looking for more mountains to conquer.
You can see it, I can see it, we all can see that if there was just ONE person there with a CCW and he/she was able to stop this guy after the initial shots, it would have been a different story. But it almost never seems to be that way. These shooters, although clearly nuts, are not stupid. They have their backs covered, doors locked, ample ammo, and, DUH, always seem to know where to strike with little possibility of an armed confrontation. Naturally with so many places having that NO GUN sign, it's a target rich environment.
Finally, what is the answer? Who knows? Psychologists with a PHD can't figure it out. Perhaps they ought to ask us peon gun owners.
We KNOW what the answer is.

The lies and the "spin doctors" got to this story even before the smoke cleared. I'll venture to say that we'll have more clamoring for gun control before the end of next week.
Get set and fasten your seat belts, we're in for a bumpy ride...

When things get a little tough some of the wack jobs just teetering on the edge go over it. That is what seems to have happened in this case, as well as some of the others.
The news always gets at least some of the facts wrong, partly in thier rush to get the story out, partly because sensationalism sells and partly because of predjudice. Wong, the guy in Binghamton was initially reported to have had a rifle, he didn't.
The politicians have been quiet so far. I think a lot of that is because their private polling is telling them this isn't the time.

The fellow in Pittsburgh (I live there) who killed three cops was an ex-Marine who got a dishonerable discharge for attacking his drill instructor. He was a
certified nut case. He called 911 and waited at his home and when the cops
showed up, killed three of them on the front porch with his AK 47. He laid
an ambush for them. He's in custody, not killed but wounded, since he wore
body armour. The local media is calling his few guns an "arsenal" -- 1
AK, one hunting rifle and two handguns.
I'm afraid that we are in for bumpy ride here once the government gets
some other things straightened out (like the fall of GM, Chrsyler, etc.).
The guy was even quoted as saying that "he was afraid that Obama was going after his guns". Perhaps true, but we didn't need this type of
publicity on top of the other recent incidents.
God help us -- we can only hope that this blows over. You can't legally
legislate how to deal with non-certified mentally unstable minds -- they
are, unfortunately, able to create havoc.

Apparently he "snapped" because his mother called the police to throw him out of the house after the dog urinated in the house, about 4 AM. Peter Pans who live with mommy as grown men are almost always a bit dicey.
