FN High Power
Doe anyone know of a site where I can date my FN High Power? (Not the US site that only deals with post-1954 US imports.)

Thanks for the link. I'll join that forum. BTW, it isn't an an L9. I know L9s quite well - for obvious reasons.

I understood that, that's just the way the link came up. Glad to help.

It's very difficult to date the Mk1 HP as the serial numbers are pretty random. You can get 1950s guns with serials that appear to date them to the late 30's. If it's a Mk2 or 3 then they are much easier to date due to the serial number format.
I am assuming it's a Mk1 you have? If it is, it may be the location of the proof marks and inspectors marks that will give you a date.

They have a High Power forum and seem pretty knowledgeable. As stated above, pictures including the proof marks will help.

Thanks for the input guys. It seems as though I need more than the serial number then.

Pictures of the various markings including the proof marks would be helpful.
