    Any nagant revolver experts?

I have a 1939 tula, got the star with arrow thing stamped, right under that is a little square with a line in it stamped, trigger guard left side has a star with a 6 next to it, and in front of cylinder is what i assume is a serial number, XT864, right side is some funky symbols. Wondering if anyone knows about manufacturing runs, where they got shipped and where it may have seen service, etc.

The square with a diagonal line is an arsenal rebuild marking.

The cylinder is serial numbered and should match the frame.

The M1895 revolver was used extensively by the Russianicon Imperial Army and later by the Soviet Union after the Russian Revolution. In Russian service, it was known for its extreme sturdiness and ability to withstand abuse. As one former Imperial Russian officer stated, "if anything went wrong with the M1895, you could fix it with a hammer".

It was widely employed by the Bolshevik secret police, the Cheka, as well as its Soviet successor agencies, the OGPU and NKVD. In the police role, it was frequently seen with a cut-down barrel to aid in concealment by plainclothes agents. Despite the advent of the more modern Soviet TT pistol, the M1895 remained in production and use throughout World War II.

Sturdy construction and plodding technology. No expert on anything. May have killed more Russians in the past 100 years than any other two arms.

MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.
