Sight Selection
I am getting a White Oak Service rifle upper.
A matter of opinion question.
For Service rifle competition, which sights (Size) do you recommend and why?
The choices are:· · Choice of .052", .062", or .072" NM front sight post
Next question, given a choice; pre ban with the birdcage or post ban with out?

If you can still see a narrow front sight blade in sharp focus, they may be of some help to you. If you are old like me, the fatter blade is easier to see.
As to your 2nd question, the less "stuff" you have hanging on your barrel, the better it is likely to shoot. A flash hider is not designed to make your barrel shoot better, so my vote would be to leave it off.

Well you could go middle of the road .062 I am 43 and that .052 is thin.

I just got mine, and went with the .062 front sight. I'm 52, and don't have nearly the eyes I used to, but this'll work for me for now. HPD's right, no sense in having an unnecessary part on your barrel, but I went with the flash suppressor anyway, just 'cause. Probably a reaction to the expired AWB ;-).

Whent with the Thin sight
I got a Rock River NM lower with 2 stage trigger to put the WOA upper on. I went with the smaller sight (I'm 49, could be a mistake) and the pinned rear. If I can't see it, its easy enough to change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I started out on the old Jouster '03 board. These boards (and a couple of others) make it easier to get smarter on just about any question. Thanks All

.052 is my choice. I'm 35
The .052 is the same width as an 03 sight blade, just for reference. Jim
