No threads/posts on the Dutch AR-10?
Anywhere on the site? Especially on a Canadian site? I'll admit to being somewhat surprised....perhaps my search-fu is weak?

Don't recall one.
Have handled a few, and have shot a dealer's sample some time back. Very nice, burst fire particularly controlable. Seems smoother operating and better handling than the new ones. However, that's from a pretty limited exposure to the old version!

I personally found them to SEEM like they were on the edge of the time pressure curve. Like it was all they could handle. Not that they were brutal or anything, an FN could be way harsher. Never got to fire them on auto though...

That's a very precise description. I like it.

Thank You to Bob Womack For This Useful Post:

The one I shot was quite mild mannered, on the other hand. "Sudan" model, I think. Ejection was certainly less vigourous than an HK91/G3. Felt recoil was rather "lacking", considering the caliber. Easy to steer during long bursts, too.
It was a fairly pristine example, though.

Maybe it was the ammo in my case? I'm sure it would have been early like 1960s? DA maybe?

There were a few small machine shops that manufactured semi auto lower receivers for the AR-10 kits that were around back in the late 70's and 80's. Jack Martinez from Bakersfield had alot of early US, Portuguese NATO and Sudanese Model AR-10 parts. I always like the early wood buttstock on the Sudanese AR-10. Most of the early parts kits around now are missing parts which you are not going to find.

Well, let me state that I am a buyer for any 12(3) AR-10's that come up for sale, parts, mags etc., also DEACTS. For heaven's sake don't deact them to sell them to me however, just if they're already like that. Looking for original Delft scopes/mounts as well, also the Delft KRR AI62 scope which the Dutch used on their FAL. Contact via PM please. TIA.
