Belted Surplus .303 in ammo cans, worth?
I've been lurking on here a bit educating myself, and finally got around to asking a question. So here it is...
I found someone that has surplus belted .303 in WWII era ammo cans, one of which is dated 1943. The one I'm interested in contains 250 rounds. What is a fair price for this given today's marketplace. He wants $1 a round. I walked away from it, but for some weird reason I'm drawn to it. Could someone educate me on this?

For WW2 surplus ammo I think the price being asked is way out of line. Priv sells for around $15 a box and that's new non corrosive ammo.

Yeah, I know. I have some currently ordered. He was wanting over $200 for a 440 can of 7.62x54r. I'll just steer clear of it. I may find a deal at the gun show coming up next weekend, at least better than that.
