I have a feeling that the reasons for continuing the use of IE6 here have to do w/ compatability with some of our older programs. We have some stuff that's still DOS based that are the best programs ever tried. Having suffered through several failed "upgrades" we LIKE the core program!
I've discussed it w/ my immediate superiors, and they have no better explanation, so I'll just suffer along...
It could be something that has to be cleared w/ the federal types for all I know- and some of them are using 1950s tech!

Is it just me or is the site doing something odd? Almost no graphics of any sort, just red x's everywhere! Can't even see the button to make a red "x"- or a bold one. About the only graphics left are my bunny rabbit and Badger's license plate.

The red X's mean that your browser is unable to retrieve the picture associated with the link on our site that points to that picture, so your browser substitutes a standard default symbol instead. If you see some pics at all, they are ones that are stored on your local computer in your browser's cache memory for faster retrieval. Browsers do that on pics that are accessed frequently enough.
You should also note that some members who don't want to pay for storage on sites like PhotoBucket often use the FREE 30 day capability of sites like that, Unfortunately, PhotoBucket deletes those pics after 30 days and all you see in the member's post is a graphic that says the pic has been moved or deleted. It's such a waste of time for a member to do that because any other member who refers to that post after 30 days doesn't get to see the pics and sometimes has no idea what the original content was about. We have one or two members here who are really bad about doing this and they post a lot of pics with this FREE 30 day service stuff, which ends up creating a lot of useless post content. We've been thinking of blocking members who do this as it affects the content of the site and we end up answering a lot of emails from other members asking where's the poster's pics gone. I have no idea why any member here would want to do this considering we offer FREE hosting and storage of pics for members in our Member's Photo Gallery (click here). Heck, that facility even provides the special bulletin board code for each pic, so all any member using it has to do is cut-n-paste that code into their post and the pic appears, plus because it's stored on our site the pics will remain forever and never disappear.
Anyway, so much for our beef, but now to your problem....
We've done nothing on our end that would cause this, particularly considering you're saying you're seeing NO pics at all. That means that pics not only from our site, but from sites that other members are using for their pics are also not showing up. It's possible that your IT department is blocking incoming redirected links you are accessing from your local computer browser, but it's more likely that somehow the "show graphics" option in your browser has been turned OFF? Check your browser settings or have someone from T do so and see if that's happened.
Let me know if there's anything else we can do....
Regards,
Doug

Supposedly it's allowed, but something is changed. Oddly it's not affecting other sites that I've seen, so I'm thinking someone behind the scenes is exercising a bit of "control". It's their system, so I've no say in the matter. (Sites just checked include ar15.com, Jouster.com, and m14tfl.com - all "no dramas", and fnforum.net -minor graphics removal.)
I think the IT branch is in their own complex some few miles away, I've never really seen any, except a few installers running more cables in the overhead raceways, and, rarely, crawling inside one of the closet sized blue and black boxes of mystery.
Well, I reckon I'm going to be scarce unless I start getting week ends off again...Very sad. Odd how the smilie icon is blocked but the function still works! Dang, still have work to do on several threads and photo deals.
Mind you, things could be back to normal at any time. I've given up trying to guess this kind of thing.
