Found a 1941 Longbranch on the local classified website. Looks better than expected. Barrel is '42 dated with matching number as are all. Two groove bore is bright and sharp. Still some bits of cosmoline in corners. I don't see any rearsenal marking, but am wondering if the parkerized finish is original? A good companion for my 1950 Faz.

I haven't fired it yet, but expect it to do well with my cast bullet loads.

You have a nice rifle.

As you may know, due to the odd method of serial marking early LB rifles, your rifle is serial number 10,751.

Long Branch did not begin phosphating (Parkerizing) until midway thru the 1950 dated production...ie) functionally 1951.

Due to the fact that Long Branch stopped marking their rebuilds (FTR's if you will) in the "usual" commonwealth way very early, the primary way to tell that it's rebuilt is late finish & furniture.
