Savage Lee Enfield No.4 Mk 1*
I have a brand new still in grease rifle. It was made in 1943 by Savage arms serial number 4308415 and is stamped with US Property. What would the value of this rifle be. I live in Canada. I am interested in selling this rifle.

Values vary around the world, in the Uk probabaly around the £400 (US$600) area but probably better to await a Canadian answer.
The serial number is actually 48C8415 and not 4808415
C = Chicopee Falls - the Savage plant.

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Well I see you listed it slightly higher than what was thought to be a decent price (600.00 + or- and on for $1,400.00) well we all know what PT Barnum said?
Well now you have it at a price (700.00) that is more realistic and you will probably get close to that. Very nice gun.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

According to Strattons book yours is a Savage made in 1943 Table F-5 page 168 serial No.'s observed 40C - 84C (b)
b. Rifles in this number range are not dated. It is assumed they were made during 1943.
