A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Jerry, welcome to milsurps. We are very pleased to have you as a member. Please enjoy the site, share and have fun.

Harley provided some 15,000, Indian about 20,000 motorcycles during WWI. There wasn't much uniformity back in those days and to fill the need any of the following could have been utilized: Henderson, Douglas Motorcycle, Excelsior Motor Manufacturing, a division of Chicago’s Schwinn Bicycles, later purchased the Henderson Motorcycle Company. All of the listed have documented history during WWI.

Douglas Motorcycle was primarily used as a "dispatch".
