Hi Folks,
My Grandfather was a courier during WW1, So He road his Motorcycle all over Europe during the War.
I'd like to know what motorcycles were used by the US during WW1.
If I ever come across a correct MC I'd like to know what He might have used.

Harley provided some 15,000, Indian about 20,000 motorcycles during WWI. There wasn't much uniformity back in those days and to fill the need any of the following could have been utilized: Henderson, Douglas Motorcycle, Excelsior Motor Manufacturing, a division of Chicago’s Schwinn Bicycles, later purchased the Henderson Motorcycle Company. All of the listed have documented history during WWI.
Douglas Motorcycle was primarily used as a "dispatch".
