Need some help identifying a helmet...

Hey there, I have this old Brodie helmet that's been in my collection for a long while and I could never find out when it was made or anything. I'm assuming it was made between WWI and WWII. It was given to me by a friend in Massachusetts. I believe the "W" stands for Warden. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the replies! Both are very plausible. I actually remember seeing the air raid warden in in old photo from the Battle of Britain of an air raid warden rollerskating around London to help people during the bombings. That was what I thought it was at first, but it has a different lining than the British icon

helmets. Maybe it was a lend-lease helmet?

I thought the colour of "W" helmets was dark blue ore black? Isn't there a helmet expert on this forum?

I agree with 'HOOKED ON HISTORY' and think it's most likely a British air raid warden....

Check the seem around the edge where it starts and ends.. If the seem overlaps slightly it was made in England icon

. If the joint butts up flush with no overlap it was made in the US.

It has the overlap.
