I am a big fan of the Burris signature Zee. They allow adjustability in any direction with offset inserts sold seperately. I have never had a scope ring mark using them. No more shimming, cannot bind or bend scope tubes when installed or adjusted correctly. The initial zero can be set by the rings so that all of your elevation and windage is available when needed.

Why not ask Ken, he made the mounts?

Something to consider: If you are using a scope with large objective end and low rings ...you will have trouble with clearence at the front end of the Viani mount. When I moved the scope forward enough to clear the mount, the eye relief was too much. Ken removed an inch from the front of my mount and the eye relief problem was solved.

I've had to shorten aluminum Weaver bases before - not too hard to do if you want to avoid shipping hassles. I ended up refinishing one set with Krylon flat black on a Sako Aiii.
