MAS 49/56 CA legal modifications
Unfortunately I live in this state with these outragious gun laws . California law states that I can't have anything that "looks evil" on my gun. What would I need to have done to the rifle for it to be considered california legal? Could I get away with the muzzle break attatched because it's purpose is not to reduce the flash but simply the muzzle lift. Would I also need to have the grenade sights removed?
thanks

I'm not really sure to what you are referring. There is no law that says "looking evil" is illegal. I have not lived in CA for about 2 years, but when I was there I purchased a Yugo SKS with a grenade launcher and bayonet. Brown even just vetoed down the detachable magazine thing. Also, wouldn't a MAS 49 still be covered under C&R?

Ok, I see what you are getting at. If it is in it's original configuration it should still fall under C&R though.

Do the assault weapon laws include c&r rifles?

And what I mean by things that look evil are the things that were banned that don't actually affect the performance of a rifle like we aren't allowed to have a thumb hole in the stock or pistol grips or in the case of the mas 49/56 the grenade launcher that can't be used anyway because there is absolutely no ammunition for it anywhere.
