    1880 triangle ram-rod bayonet trapdoor

I have a beautiful 1880 barrel and bayonet that I want to mount into a stock. I know it's similar to a Model 1879 except for the ram-rod style bayonet. I have a reproduction stock that is cut for a regular cleaning rod and end cap. What I need to know is how the triangular ram-rod/bayonet grove was cut into the stock. All the photos I've found show only side view. Does anybody have a picture or discription I can use to modify this stock?
