nice looking buck.
i wondered about the price of the m7 as i only paid $28.00 for my /|\ marked m7 bayonet.

The British Army certainly did have plenty of M7 knife bayonets and have had them for many years. They were first listed in EMER reference SA&MG V153 dated August 1970

Peter
Are the UK M7's marked with a WD arrow?
-
WD Arrow marking. I haven't seen any for a couple of years but it would appear that they were/are marked. The marking was probably a contract stipulation

In my limited experience the No 7 price is not out of line. I have seen these Bayonets, (in good plus condition), offered and sold at $200 plus. Maybe Central Florida is just an expensive place? (Check with B. Dick at BDL Ltd.)

Silly Sellers
"SAS", "SBS", "COMMANDO", "AIRBORNE", "PARATROOPER", and my personal favorite, "MINT"; all words often used by E-sellers to pry more money out of the hands of the unwary.
Giving the seller of this item the benefit of the doubt, I contacted him a couple of weeks ago to inform him of what I knew about this bayonet, naively expecting him to pass the information along in his listing, and, hopefully, adjust the price to a more realistic level. As he did neither, to prevent others with these bayonets from making a similar "mistake" as to their worth, but, more importantly, to prevent my fellow collectors from being burned by such a cock and bull story, here is the information I relayed to him.
In the early 1990's Sarco was selling these bayonets as "Australian M-16 Bayonets", for the princely sum of $34.50 each. I purchased two, and with shipping and handling, from New Jersey to California, my invoice shows a grand total of $77.57.
These bayonets and scabbards arrived in separate, sealed, plastic wrappers, and were brand-spanking new. The bayonet is exactly as pictured in the sellers listing, with the only markings being the broad-arrow and "M7" stamped on the cross-guard. The scabbards that came with the bayonets were not the standard M8A1 that the seller pictures with his, but the later, all-plastic, M10 scabbard with a nylon suspension strap and a nylon lace tie-down. The scabbard is painted with a light and dark green camo pattern, with the only marking being a broad-arrow, impressed in the plastic at the throat.
One of the two pair I left in the original wrap. On the bayonet wrapper is printed:
1005-00-073-9238
FSCM: 19204 P/N: 11010077
BAYONET KNIFE, M7
1 EACH
On the scabbard wrapper is printed:
1095-00-223-7164
SCABBARD BAYONET-KNIFE
1 EA
It would be nice if that bayonet was what the seller thought it to be before I contacted him, (you can bet one of mine would be for sale!), but as he didn't change his listing after being informed of the probable origin of his bayonet, I think I can be forgiven if I believe his description to be pure, unadulterated hokum.
Hope this helps a bit.
Terry
