Great one Steve! I loved my one and it was great shooting with it. Let us know how the "Lady" worked at the Range!

Thanks, Ulrich. I hope to get to the range next week and see how it shoots.

I went to the range yesterday to test fire and sight this one in. Found it was shooting to the left @ 100 yards (1), my first correction put the impact to the right (2). Moved the sight a little and put three rounds into a very small group (3,4,5). I continued to walk the rounds toward the center until I was happy with where they were hitting (9,10). GP-11 ammo @ 100 yards.

I really would like a model 1911. I love the length they have. I saw one at a show this past weekend for 140, but it was missing the front sight, barrel band screws, bolt cocking knob and mag. I figured it would be better to just find a complete one. Yours is awesome and shoots like they all should.

The correct decision. There are enough out there in perfect order. In fact, because they are normally in such good order, there are not many which have been broken up for spares. You would have found it not easy but disproportionately expensive to put one together from parts.

I agree. Original condition 1911's start at about $300 from dealers--a bit less on the auctions. You could never restore one for the difference in price between what you described and the original condition examples.

Bad luck Bigduke, i had to know it earlier. I sold my complete number matching very fine 1911 a few weeks ago for 250 Euros.

Thanks. Ulrich..now that the GP-11 ammo proves that this rifle is a shooter, I've got to work up a load to use at the next military surplus rifle match.
