This Weekend is a Shooting Weekend.

Among three other rifles my Dad and I will be working with this one today and tomorrow. A '78 Vetterli.

We have all the brass cut down to length, fireformed, resized and trimmed. Even during the fireforming process we were at 2"+ groups so this should be a fun day with the Vetterli.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Thanks, and I guess it's going to be a few more days. Yesterday We got stuck on a Garandicon we had decided not to buy. It belongs to a freind and we determined a couple of weeks ago that it simply wasn't worth the asking price, but Dad felt obliged to make it shoot better. It had a barrel with very obvious machining marks in it visible with the Hawkeye borescope so he bought a David Tubb Final Finish kit and it took nearly all day to do the whole process. The machining marks disappeared and the group shrunk from 4.5moa down to 2moa, but not enough to justify the $1,000.00 he was asking.

Today was the Wilson AR10, and though we're at repeatable moa, I'm convinced it can be less than that for sure. No time for the Vewtterli till this coming tuesday or wednesday. I'll save the targets for sure.
Got to get back out to the range.
