Where did all the 7.5 Swiss go?
Literally every brand is out of stock online everywhere. I understand GP11 dried up a while back, but currently even PPU is gone. What gives?

Best guess since it's not a typical hunting caliber ammunition manufactures moved on to common hunting ammunition and will probably make another run in the future.

That’s good to know. Thanks. I stashed away a set of reloading dies and I have 500 PPU spent brass just in case new ammo isn’t forthcoming in America soon.

I had also noticed that PPU was sold out on most online retailers, fortunately one of my local stores still had several boxes on hand and i was able to stockpile a bit.
Prvi Partizan has been changing over their production line for new "rifle line", "pistol line" and "match line" ammo. I suspect this is the reason for the shortage and once the packing is put into production it will again be available.

I reload and got 500 cases of the PPU from Grafs. You can go deluxe with Norma or PPU. PPU is right in there quality wise with RP. I think its as good as Lapua, fired a lto of side by side test and see zero difference.

I do a minimum shoulder bump back and anneal the necks with an Induction anneal.
Have lost very few to any issues mostly the seating not line up and bending the lip badly.
A kind person from the Savage site sent me 20 rounds of the GP11 and it shot ok (about 1.5 inches) but not great so I know I have a picky barrel and hope to solve its picky some day with the right bullet and powder.

Supply and demand. Both of which are low. The Swiss rifles are kind of an odd milsurp so there's not enough demand for the ammo. Then you get EU and Third World Debating Club restrictions on international sales of military ammo.
Graf's is showing Hornady 165 grain hunting ammo as being on sale for $26.09 per 20. Midway lists Prvi 174 grain FMJ's at $21.99 per 20. Both are in stock.
"...an Induction anneal..." Annealing is an 'As required' thing only. It is not necessary otherwise.

Demand for 7.5x55 was big enough to get RUAG to retool for the case after having sold about 1/3rd of their machinery off in 1995. RUAG uses that case for all of it's commercial loads in Europe, and in CH the mg34 is still in use in the Swiss Army. Demand in the US and Canada is why they retooled. That's not a small thing at all for any company.

Happy to say I have both the weapon and the dies. Now just need to get me some ammo. Money to buy the ammo would work also.
Thanks for the info share.
