From what I've been able to gather, AP was used in common issue in Korea because the bullets carried better and were more effective in knocking down enemy. They are a bit heavier...Apparently the M1s were fed a steady diet of AP. I'm not certain where I heard that so maybe others can confirm or deny...

Glad to see the rest of the troops not to fussed about sky lining themselves or it could be a ploy to get the enemy to open up then tap them with the MG !
