I asked this same question on the old CSP forum. I got a few answers but I'm afraid I can't remember most of them. I was able to find this link that I think may provide a litte bit of information. Hope this helps.

No, it is Canadian wartime ammo. The MM goes with the 9, for 9mm. It is excellent shooting ammo that can still sometimes be found on the surplus market, in 64 round boxes. The MM from Musgrave is a very rare, odd headstamp that is hardly ever seen, even in the best collections.
Terry, you have posted that erroneous information elsewhere and been corrected. Please don't perpetuate disinformation.

Pretty sure it is non-corrosive (98%), but it couldn't hurt to clean as-if.

When I first encountered this ammo back in the '60s, it was identified by sellers as Canadian, Boxer-primed, non-corrosive from WWII.
It certainly is Boxer-primed, which back then existed only in the USA & Canada.
All the headstamps I have seen were from '41 to '45.
In the last two years, friends & I have shot up over 200 rounds of this, with no corrosion (also no misfires, hang-fires, or jams from lack of power, from 65 year old ammo!).
My speculation is than these (and similarly-marked Boxer-primed 8x57 Mauser FMJ ammo) were made on contract for the Nationalist Chinese, for use in the Inglis-made P.35 Hi-Power pistols, and their home-made M98 Mauser rifles.

64 round box.......................2 X 32 round sten magazines seems likely.
I use the same ammo in my sten from time to time - very reliable but a terror to reload. That primer is crimped in really good.
