Just by chance do any of you Springfield Model 1903 collectors have any guns marked with the number #C64,112 on the receiver or front sight base under the wood? There are some stampings with slightly different numbers such as C62,114 but they pretty much mean the same thing. These were parts available to N.M shooters in the mid 20th century. From my past collecting I have only ran across a few guns with numbers and they were only on civilian match grade weapons, no exceptions. Prior to my middle son getting ill, I had several hundred Springfield model 1903's. Even thought I can no longer afford these I have never lost interest in them and the question has always nagged me, are there any "ISSUED" weapons out there with this number on them, Many thanks for your time-SDH
