    srs search please

i found the serial number for my gun and it was dated for 1903. i was wondering if there was anything else that could be located?

    serial # 445630

it was my grandpap's gun, who let my dad and late uncle use it for a first rifle. the 30-40 krag sat in his closet for 20+ years and then it was given to me a few months before he died. its stock came from bishops(1950 or 1960's?) and the barrel has been cut down to 22" and a 1903 springfield sight has been put on. i recently got a redfield 102k no drill reciever sight for it. i still need to put it on. i know its been "bubbazed" , but what the heck, with cast boolits and open sights, it will take a deer.

if anyone has a little more info on it, i will be entirely grateful.

No hit on 445630...but, 445615 was grabbed by FA for ammunition tests. Two more paces down the rack and it would have been this one... Close, no cookie. Yes, it was a rifle and made almost at the end of production. I would think that's why it survived in good barrel condition.
