What parts were numbered on later # 4 Mk 2 rifles?
I've got a 1955 #4 Mk. 2 rifle that has matching numbers on the receiver, bolt, and stock. The magazine has no markings. Were the magazines on these rifles numbered? Any other locations I should look for for numbers?
Thanks

My 1954 No.4 Mk 2 has a serial # at the bottom of the magazine.

Parts numbered on No4 Mk2 54 / 55 production rifles are, Bolt, action, woodwork under the fore end just behind the front barrel band and on the magazine which had the rifle serial number engraved on the base.

I have a 55 and this is how my rifle is numbered. Butt is not numbered but has some markings indicating year of production/assembly I think (F 55 faintly) - which is nice as I'm planning on changing it to a normal length (got a S).

Bayonets were numbered to rifles in the '50's as well.
