M1903 A3 at 100 mtrs
Wednesday was a wet and miserable day with nothing to do, nothing but put another target out of my misery. So I packed a total of 54 assorted rounds into the range bag and drove off to the range. First off I fired a bunch of reduced loads consisting of 165 grn plastic coated lead bullets sat on top of 14 grns of Vhitavouri N340, which is a pistol powder roughly comparable to Unique. This has always been an accurate load delivering groups of 1" at 100 mtrs. This time I put 4 rds into 3/5 of an inch, unfortunately no 5 decided to go elsewhere. Switching to 168 HPBT sat on 48.5 grns of N140 produced a group 2" wide and less than 1" high. Interestingly enough this not only went around 5 " higher it also went about 3" left. Then came 5 rds of Danish M2 (all I had) this went well left and spread like a shotgun.
