Model 1891 Remington stock reinforcing bolt question

What is the proper procedure to remove the stock reinforcing bolt from the stock. Mine was missing the nut, but I have found a replacement. I need to clean up the threads on the bolt. I tried using a brass punch with no luck. I didn't want to make matters worse before asking for advice. TIA --RBruce

Just answered my own question. Found this web site http: //7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinDisassembly.htm You must remove the action from the stock as the stock bolt is locked around the receiver lug.
