1898 Krag carbine
I just got an 1898 Krag carbine SN 103863 and it has some replacement parts that are not correct. The stock was replaced maybe 40years ago but is not the correct one. I am looking for a true 1898 Krag carbine stock and rear site to go a long with my low SN reciever. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated

Robert,
The 1898 carbine is a rare bird. I would check and then check again before I spent a lot of money on what could be a cut-down. There are guys on this list and the Culver list that can tell you if your piece falls inside the known S/N blocks that were original carbines.
On the other hand, even a fake Krag carbine makes a great hunting rifle, as-is.
good luck!

Serial would be an 1896 rifle.
