    Another 1917

This is my Winchester. Arsenal rebuild I suspect....there are no stampings on the underside of the stock. Barrel is a 10-17.
I'm inside today and this is what happens when you are, due to weather. Don't feel like going out into a cold barn, lighting a fire in the stove and then dubbing around. The moment I took my snow plow off yesterday afternoon in brilliant sunshine, that little voice said, 'you're hexing yourself." Sure enough. Gray today, weather chaps are now saying six inches are on the way.

Nice looking rifle, I remember so well when I was young being able to go find one locally that was just like new. '17/'18 barrel dates and still greased from storage. Bore would be perfect too, all gone into collections or sporterized now. Gone... That one's about perfect.
    Regards, Jim

Then, I’m also lucky. See, happyness is a question of observation angles

You may be interested to see that the Eddystone with this serial number shows up in the SRS. Doesn't tell you anything about your rifle but a neat happenstance anyway.

Nice early rifle, interesting that there is no star stamp on the receiver.
