Shull sets out on a cross country quest to settle a 70 year old argument about which was the deadliest sniper rifle of World War II. To settle this dispute, Shull turns to collectors who help him get his hands on sniper versions of the British Lee Enfield, the American M1 Garand, the German Mauser K98, and the Soviet SVT40.

Along the way, he gets caught up in a quest for the holy grail of the collecting world, authentic World War II sniper scopes.

Shull puts the best World War II rifles to the test, under the guidance of an ex special forces marksman who introduces him to what being a sniper is all about.

Love the rifles but the actor "Investigating" is a d*ldo...first they introduce the "Elite Canadian sniper" (never heard of him) and then he gives him the k98 to shoot...then he instructs him on basics of breathing during shooting. It always ruins the effect of seeing the rifles. The position he had set up for shooting was pointing down hill instead of level, almost impossible to shoot from as you have to bend back up to shoot. Love to see the rifles, hate the drama they try to instill in these.

Pretty cool vid though I do not think I will be in the market for an SVT anytime soon there is one for sale in Perth for $2,900/Au I cannot justify that dollars, besides he only got one round away, in the last burst with the M-1 it was interesting to note the flash hider on it though I think his trigger control was a bit snatch and grab, it is personal preference me I like my No.4 T. Thanks Badger for an interesting insight there are some serious collectors out there lucky dudes........
Postscript I agree with BAR why do they spoil it by rehashing segments and to be honest his shooting of the K-98 was woeful I have shot on steep terrain you just need good coaching.
With this the spotter gave the fall of shot he could have adjusted his shooting to hit the target I think if Carlos was watching he may have had a few expletives and the guy would not have earned his patch washout at 100 yards how embarrasing......

You guys know he’s just an actor, right?

I watched it yesterday and I am still cringing at the thought of his trigger “technique.” It’s very obvious he has no training. But what he does have is enthusiasm for these old guns and their history. He is bringing this history to the younger generations in a way they can relate to. If he creates any interest with them, and I think he does, then I am all for it.

Thank you, Badger, for the entertainment. I don’t own a TV and would not have seen this. For all its warts, I found it quite encouraging.

I was wondering why he couldn’t hit the target with the Enfield. Maybe that crown had something to do with it?

I was looking at the front band it almost looks undone and crooked as a dingoes tongue in a drought! Hard to tell on the crown almost looks like old cosmoline or worse rust.....Also if that is the rifle that belonged to the sniper then sir I reckon the gunnery sergeant would have had him doing a good load of extra KP and then some

Did you notice the Garand is an M1D, not a C?

WW2 was over before M1D’s went into service.
