The S.U.I.T. optics also work great, but you have to get a genuine dustcover mount (rare) or strengthen the readily available and weak 'aftermarket' mounts that have aluminum rivets.

SUIT sight........ Stand for Shooter Usually (or Undoubtedly or Undeniably) In Trouble. They were a load of pure cxxx. Or, rather, the mounting system on the sight was. That's from the horses mouth!

The SUIT sight never impressed me. I understand why the sight post came down from the top to acommodate the illuminating element, but damn, it had a bl**dy big, fat post! The sight post always seemed arse-up to me as well.

The reason it came down from the top was so that it wouldn't obscure the image/target. Good theory but if it was THAT good an idea, we often asked why they reversed it for the SUSAT sight - where it reverted to the norm!
Yep....... absolute crap! Although to be honest, the actual sighting part was OK, it was the flimsy mounting system. I used to keep the broken off top sighting part of one tied to a bit of string in my pouches to use as a shortie prismatic telescope - less the graticle which I snapped off internally. That was it's GOOD side. The even better side was that I loaned it to someone one day and luckily, forgot who it was! Instead, got a one-way-trip x3 trijicon off an N-Law anti-tank missile tube. Best thing I ever had!
