Couple of dust covers and questions...

Here's two dustcovers pictured below. One is a cast alloy, just wondering what else went on it for mounting a scope?

The other one has had an interesting mod. The bracket soldiered onto the top has what looks to be a 1:1 scope on it. The bracket is screw adjustable for elevation, and has some increments marked on the adjustment nut. The "scope"...(I think it would be better termed as a lensed aperture tunnel) has the following marks...
    "CR1031"
then it has a large "W" with a smaller "W" inside it
    next "Reg. No"
    "WWL1188"

    anyone got any clues?

The bottom one looks like it's got a little RJ Beck 1:1 sight that was fitted to the EM series of rifles. It looks different because the tapered cover has been removed from the sight tube. The CR relates to the sight as it's part of the old MoS identification code. Archaic or what............?
