Tallest Front Sight Post
I bought one of the those sets of different height front sight posts that were made for the British No. 1 Enfield and that are interchangeable with the M1917. Does anyone happen to know if any of the posts are tall enough for a 100 yard zero using the battle sight??

According to recentr copy of the 17 Enfield manual...
battle sight zero was for 250 yds.
So using what I did for mine you should try either a 0.45 or 0.5 marked front insert. That will put you high @ 100, but on @ 200, with the ladder up.
WHy set for 100?? deer hunting back-up???

Hey Coop, do you have a source for those sight inserts? I want to do the same with my 1917, it shoots way to high at 200 yards. Thank, Scott

IIRC thats where I got mine for a Remington that was about a foot high at 100 yds. I'm not positive but I think I did use a .45 blade and it got me 2 inches high at 100 yds which was fine for me. I don't remember what it was I took off of it though.
