Shipping To California???
I have a C&R pistol I would like to ship to California. Are there any unusual/different issues sending a C&R pistol from my FFL to an FFL in California? THANKS

Let me rephrase. I now understand that in order to ship to California, my FFL must get registered with California to send to a California FFL and that is why they don't want to ship to California.
However, I have a C&R license and am wondering if I can send a C&R pistol to a California FFL? THANKS

Ca C&r
Sorry, jughead you can't send any pistol to a CA C&R, it has to go to a FFL, even if it a C&R pistol. C&R long guns are like any state.
CA FFL's had to register and get CL#, they send that # with there FFL to you or your FFL. Before shipment you or FFL must call that number to DOJ and get a transaction #, and include that # in shipment.

Hi
a C&R or a non licensed individual can mail a C&R pistol freely to California FFL 01 only. a C&R or unlicensed person does not have to use the processing system with the CAL DOJ. you are supposed to use overnight/express if you are
"Handguns may not be sent through the U.S. Postal Service. A common
or contract carrier must be used for shipment of handguns. Federal and state laws generally prohibit the carrying upon the person of any firearm or ammunition aboard any commercial passenger airplane. Similar restrictions may apply to other common carriers such as trains, ships, and buses. Persons who need to carry or transport firearms or ammunition on a common carrier should always consult the carrier in advance."
best of luck

I didn't really understand before, but I now see why so many sellers post in their ads they won't sell to CA residents. That's a shame.
