Hello one and all,

Not being very knowledgable with computers, I'm not much of a poster and certainly don't know what to do with all the cute little doo-dads, but I did want to thank everyone that contributed information on their rifles in response to my little survey on No. 4 (T) Trials rifles on the old CSP forum and Gunboards recently. It revealed some interesting information that I am putting together for a possible article here on Milsurps that should be ready shortly.

Mine is a conversion of a 1933 Trials rifle. The serial number is A0972. It's completely original with LOTS of character. The Watson 1943 Mk.1 scope and Daglish & Sons bracket are mismatched as I purchased the rifle less telescope several years ago. It came from your neck of the woods Terry. ATB.

Thanks for the info, but it appears you missed the most important questions of my little survey. Does your rifle still have the stamped cut-off intact, some other type of cut-off, or none at all? Thanks much, Terry

I'm just going to guess that it's not in original Trials configeration so it might not be a good one for the survey. Looks like the butt stock is not the original as there is no brass unit disk. I wonder if it still has the waisted front sight protector? Just some thoughts, Ray

Thanks for the heads up on this rifle. It does still have a cut-off, so it is definitely an ex-Trials, but the photos don't allow a determination of what type of cut-off. As Ray says, its originality has been compromised, so without any more details than these photos provide, I'll reluctantly leave it off the survey. (I say reluctantly, because this rifle does support my theory, to be revealed in the forthcoming Military Knowledge Library article.)

I have a No4T that was converted from a Trials rifle. The one thing I noticed is that someone put a SMLE cutoff on it. So it was originally removed during conversion.
