New find
Went to the candy store sat. picked a rack grade Inland just for the stock.(Q-RMC). I took the rear sight off and it was a line out with .U. and flaming bomb.
Barrel is 6-44 underwood with E.U. front sight. Would you think this is correct
barrel? I will have pictures in a little while.

A 6-44 barrel indicates that it is a replacement barrel. Underwood stopped carbine production two months before the barrel was made and Inland never used Underwood barrels as they made their own. What is the serial number on the receiver. Someone can give you an idea of when it was made and what would be a correct barrel date.

Yes, wrong barrel. no big deal. UEF did not make any rifles in june 44.
Here is a photo,
I have been told Nov-Dec 43 a batch of receivers from Inland were transfered, maybe there was a earlier batch.

More like June 30, 1943 to September 2, 1943. Inland sent about 14000 receivers to Underwood during this time frame. About August 1943 for your serial number. hth
