    Three High Powers

Three High Powers from my collection. The 3rd. one came with holster and a turn of the century medal the Germanicon soldier attached to the holster. The capture papers were an added bonus.I put the High Powers right up there with the 1911AIs and Lugers. A very nice looking and well made pistol. The holster was made for a P38?
    Thanks for looking,

Very nice. Thanks for showing them as you have them from both sides.

    Question

What are the WaA nrs on your HPs? The one with trophy papers is 140 and the tangient sighted one is either 613 or 105 - which one, and what is the other one?
Are there any markings on the back of the holster or the straps? I would guess it is a post war made one for the GIs using the US shoulder holster as a pattern. These seem to be some what common.
The metal pin is probably a hat pin and I think is Austrian. I would also say that it was put on the holster by a GI, whether the holster is actualy Germanicon military or post war made.
A German soldier would be as likely to pin some sort of medal/badge onto an issue holster as a GI would be. That would get him in deep trouble!

Sarg, 140 markings for both non tangent H.P.s and 105 for the tangent H.P.. You are probably correct about the holster. In Whittington's book of Germanicon holsters, it is mentioned as possibly made for a GI but the threading is exactly same for a P38 sholder hoster pictured in his book p64. There are no markings on the holster. I consider HP right up there with Lugers and 1911AIs. Appearance and quality they can't be beat!
    Your comments are appreciated,
    Joe

The eagle "pin" is the Reichsadler - the Imperial Eagle of the Germanicon Empire used from 1889 to 1918.

Amatikuluicon, You are correct. A member of the Luger forum posted the same information as you and had posted an exact pictured pin with the imperial Germanicon eagle.
    Thanks,
    Joe
