Stock Stampings
I am new to the 1903 rifle and need some help. My 03-a3 has several stamps in the stock forward of the magazine well. Can anyone tell me what they mean? They are very small (about the size of a pencil eraser). There are eight of them:
circle with a zero in it
circle with a 20 in it
square with a 49 in it
triangle with a s in it
circle with a 6 in it
circle with a 27 in it
square with a v in it
triangle with a 26 in it
The rifle does have other stamps in the stock that I recognize as arsenal stamps and I see no other signs of it being imported. Any help?? THANKS in advance.

Those are sub-inspection marks applied by Remington at the factory as the rifle was manufactured and inspected.
