Here is an image I googled off the net pic of an antique Parker Hale oil can.
I used to roust'about for my Uncle who had his own shearing team and he actually shore sheep from the age of 15 till he finally left the boards at the age of 80.
Yes indeed a length of 65 years that's longer than some people live, was he a hard man *ken oath he was.
Therefore I am pretty o'fare with what a shearers oil can looks like yes they are very similar the give away here to me is the rolled seams top part swirls to the Rt just as my can does.

One of my Grandfathers was a blade shearer, his oil can and shears are still in my uncles possession shaped as your is. My uncles hand piece was a Woolsley (the car maker)( spelling incorrect) straight combs( all fingers same length and straight) with same oil can. Glad they had all improved by the time i went shearing with same designed Sunbeam oil can. Joke was they lasted longer than the Lister ones because we didnt need to use them as often.

Yes my uncle used to pull the outer teeth on the Lister combs had to be careful just how much lest you start cutting the sheep or leaving 2nd cuts in the end he went with the NZ combs and cutters saying "Why use a teaspoon when you can have a tablespoon."
I loved the times I worked with him as a young teenager up in Northhampton then out at Bilbarin near Corrigin sadly he is deceased now though I did implore him to write a book on his travels and shearing life sadly he never put them down to paper I even gave him the title "One Clip Away" a true bushie like all the others a sadly declining thing in our outback.
