Any special way to knock the front sight blade off?

Does it de-install by tapping from left to right or, either direction? Putting on an S&S higher front sight on a Winnie.

OK I'll reply to my own message. Took a punch and knocked it off right to left, then put in the S&S one the same way, which seemed a little tight but I got her done. I haven't shot this rifle in 20 yearsbut am thinking of shooting it for my vintage rifle for the Texas State Garandicon shoot.
