SGreen stripe on Lithgow buttstock??
What does a green stripe on the buttstock of a Lithgow No1 MarkIII mean? The stripe is located just behind the trigger housing.

It means it was a cadet rifle and is in good shooting order with standard HV Ammo.
You've got a good, safe shooter !!! Mine had the green band also.

Yes I have one in my collection although I've removed the band. They also marked them with a yellow and a white band, iirc the yellow stripe denoted it was ok for use with ball but worn whilst white was for DP use.
Hope this helps
