Hello all,
First time posting on this forum, although I'm a regular on the Lee Enfield forum. I have been on the hunt for a Martini-Enfield for quite some time. What I have found has either been priced into the stratosphere, or in horrible shape & condition. Last weekend, I attended a local auction and scored a beautiful M-E Mk I, converted from a Mk III. Crisp markings on buttstock denote prior ownership of the Tasmanian Civilian Militia Forces (CMF/T) with a stock disc marked Tasmanian Government. Bore is dark, but rifling is strong.
I have an extensive collection of Lee Enfields, but it do have a few odd-man-out empire weapons in 303. This M-E now joins my Ross Mk II and P-14 in the safe, surround by its LE brethren.Information
