Gw zf4 ddx

Hi all ,

I just joined this web site because i thought everything is pretty interesting and i also have a question about a scope i have,

I have a GW ZF4 DDX with a triangle i bought from a neighbor and he has had it like 45 to 50 years. I have read a few things about it, but i would like to no what type of rifle it came off , the value of the scope, What year it actually came from?

Could someone tell me some info on it, i have seen the pic's from the zf4 page but it doesnt help me that much.

I'd like to help, but German stuff isn't my strong suite. That scope is commonly associated with the G/K43 rifle and possibly some K98k rifles as well.

Other than that, I've not much stuck in the ol' brainpan as regards your scope.

One thing about this site, if you have a well worded title, the responses may not be quick, but useful info often trickles in for 2 or three years! Old threads aren't frowned upon! Anything in the German section of the Knowledge Library (button near the top left)?

ETA: Nothing in the MKL that I can find.

As far as values, nope, not gonna do it! Way too many variables, including regionality (yours and the buyer's), method of sale, etc. etc. Haunting the auction sites and looking at completed auctions is one way to get an idea.

Not my corner of the woods either as I tend to scorn shooting with a scope under 900 metres. But the standard German auction site ( http://www.egun.de/market/list_items...=196&x=13&y=14 ) has a "search" function with quite a few ZF4s. You can see that prices (here) range from about 100 -250 Euros. Some years ago they were A LOT cheaper!

You also might want to try our Google CSE custom search engine located in the top right corner below the words "Advanced Search". It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words GW ZF4 DDX, or perhaps ZF4 DDX and see what happens ..

Those little scopes for the G-43 sniper rifles are not easy to find, nor cheap when they are.

I paid $500 for a nice one at a gun show ten years ago and thought that a real bargain.

I have not been offered one face to face since then, although I have seen a few rusty ones on the internet.

Look on ebay, closed auctions.
