    FAL Refinsh?

Just picked up my first FAL. It is a DSA built like a STG 58. The rifle is about 97% in finish but the finish is not all matching. DS Arms says it was a Rec. sold in TX. The rifle was built to NY State Regs., No evil flash hider. I would like to have this FAL checked out and refinished to match. Not looking for a cheap job but do not want the rifle gone for 3 months. Any ideas on who to send it to? Thanks

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Hi sherbs - By reputation and longenvity the best FALs come trough Arizona Response Systems - their peeps are on the falfiles also. Check out their website. As per wait times - unkown from ARS, but every time mine has gone away it has been for months.....makes the return and first shoot even better! There are other FALsmiths too. Good luck! In my opinion the FAL derivatives need a muzzle brake - there are various to choose from (as well as the OE model). I recommend you explore and shoot your example (in person - get it deemed safe if necessary) to work out all its characteristics and features before you send it away for any remedy / upgrades or lock in its features with a finish. Enjoy!

Thanks, I sent a email to A.R.S. to see what he says. Almost forgot, it has a muzzle brake that looks like the original 3 prong. Regards, Brian
