M1 Carbine - Inland
HI All,
A friend of mine has just been willed an Inland Carbine early 530,000 range.
I have non knowledge of carbines so I thought I would ask here...
He is looking to sell it so I thought I would ask what do you think the date range of manufacture is?
What is it possible worth in today's market at a 70-80 condition...
I can then let him know
thanks !

Nick, there are so many factors to consider. Is it in it's original configuration? Like, high wood oval cut stock, dog legged hammer, push safety, flip rear sight, type I barrel band and the list goes on and on. Photos are always good and if you are looking for a fair estimate, take photos on macro with a tripod and put them to photobucket where you can group them for us to see so we can give you that accurate estimate.
Other than that, if it is a post WWII rebuild and depending on it being an import or not, wear and tear it could be worth $400.00 to $700.00 tops.

WOW! That is a nice one. I would think if it is original it could be worth $1500.00 or more. All depending on the present market and economy but a nice one nonetheless.

As far as I can tell it is original....it cleaned up nicely....I think he is going to keep it....that makes sense as the price on these is only going to go up !....and it is a great piece of military history....wish i had it
