Weapons Ban ??
As you all know I'm in the UK so I have no 'dog in the fight ' but have heard :
"Well, it's official, the U.S. Attorney General has stated that the
Administration is going to bring back the weapons ban with additions".
Any comments from our brethren over the pond ?

It will never be a total ban. That would be a revolution. Assault weapons ban. I did NOT vote for them. Dems will be OUT next election.

On a similar theme........
I read in yesterdays papers Al that the UK Home Sec is tightening up on the UK deact market. As if she ain't got enough on her plate......... I wonder if she knows that my sons bike was nicked last week as well!
Anyone any idea what is in the pipeline. I can assume that it won't be another buy back........ the nation couldn't afford another!

I do hope your right my friend. If unleashed, pelosi, reed, shumer, fienstien, conyers, rush, and altogether too many to list here, will ultimately destroy our second amendment. It's been known for a long time those extreme liberals would like to re-write the constitution to suit their own tastes, especially the 2nd and 1st ( read fairness doctrine) amendments. This nation is at the edge of a deep precipice and only the right-thinking centrist hard working middle Americans can pull us back from the end of America our Constitution signers intended it to be. It really is time to wake up!!!

Disagree - if they did a buy-back on all the Enfield Deacts and someone stripped them down and sold the parts on ebay theyd almost make enough to pay off that 2 trillion they owe !!!

Nancy Pelosi is a snake, and certainly no friend to the pro 2nd Amendment community, but she apparently has a good memory...

The speaker of the house that passed the last version was shown the door at the next election...lost his job altogether. Add the Heller decision, and the post-election buying frenzy, gun control's not high on the priority list at the moment.
Which of course doesn't mean they won't stop trying...post a guard on the back door.

Let's hope our friend Gill here is right:
From the Telegraph: "Gill Marshall-Andrews of the Gun Control Network said the consultation paper did not go far enough and she called for moves which would ban deactivated handguns and restrict possession of other types of deactivated weapons.
"We welcome the Home Secretary's announcement that deactivated guns are to be the subject of further controls," she said.
"But I think this has been set up to fail. They will end up with some very minor changes which will not get to the heart of the problem."
From the same story: "Police believe that use of re-activated guns is growing and that official statistics fail to show the full scale of the problem." Er, so you've got no evidence then to introduce measures which will target some of the most law-abiding people in the country and not do one thing to lower gun crime.

Reactivated De-acts? Only if you have a compllets machine shop anda supply of spare barrels. Easier to make a firearm from the start.
Have they decided to round off knife points yet? Suppose you are a Member of parliament, and now suppose you are an idiot, but I repeat myself.

It seems the Home Offices case for the paper is based on this work of fiction -
"The police have advised the Home Secretary that despite the low numbers in official statistics, the true scale
of criminal misuse of deactivated guns is much larger and must be tackled."
........based on what ?
The consultation paper can be downloaded here and also the address to send in your response.
