I have a P14 Enfield as well. Have all the wood but am missing a good deal of the metal parts like barrel bands, correct butt plate etc.
Anyone have an idea of where you might find these parts? I have been looking for years and so far not much luck

Milsurps parts source
Bands, butt plates and other parts for P-14s and M-1917s and lots of parts for many other milsurps, can be found at Military Historical Arms and Antiques in Glendale, California. (818-846-4509... ask for Paul)
Don't think they have a website yet, but will after a move in the near future to Globe, Arizona.
Paul knows his stuff and is always a pleasure to do business with, just don't get him started on California gun laws!

Thanks Terry, I took note of that phone number!
I'd add that I did get a few parts for my P14 refurb from BDL ltd, and was quite happy.
Calum, as far as cold blue goes, I'd test it on a small area somewhere on the underside of the receiver maybe?
