Yes I saw it - will watch to see what it makes, but don't think I'll be bidding! I suppose (given the recent prices at the Bisley show) it *might possibly maybe perhaps probably not though* bring the value to £4k - but only if you've got the correct 4t which is missing that exact scope.

Yeah, just saw it then...definitely no value there...And did you like "turn a 250 pound rifle into a 4000 pound rifle" just by slapping it on.

you might need a scope mount and a pair of pads too to slap it on !!! (Can be found on every street corner shop)

I find it pretty appalling that that sellers can get away with claims like: "When these scopes are fitted they turn a £250 Enfield into a £4000 Enfield."
We all know that is plain nonsense but it may trap the unwary.
I have tried to complain about false claims on EBay in the past but they just don't want to know.

No 8322, I wonder if its been recorded by one of the forumers in a previous life??

The ironic thing is that I got several hundreds less than that for a virtually brand new(?), bead blasted, phosphated, painted and baked FTR'd Mk2/1(W) about 4 months ago. Calibrated, run up, no backlash, test fired on the slave jig........ Let's see what it fetches
8322 hasn't been through my hands either, but if it does................ Incidentally, I found parts of 8319 inside a derelict ex Indian Army telescope. So that could indicate where 8322 has spent some of its life........

Ignoring the text, these have been fairly consistently making £1000+ on ebay so maybe he's not to far away, just 12 months 'early' with his pricing.
Its often said (about Enfields) "you didnt pay to much, just bought to early".
To my mind, EPay has been a godsend and a pain in the a**, its opened up the 'world' and allowed me to source items I'd never have found, but its also driven up the price beyond all reason - however, things only fetch what folks are prepared to pay.
I know Epay is anti-gun, (but most of the world is heading in that direction) but until we can get another international seller / auction to serve our needs I'm afraid we have to live with them.
Similarly the other on-line auctions (Gunbroker, Auction arms etc) have partly opened up the world, its just the sellers who are not prepared to sell abroad.
The 'For Sale' pages on forums such as this do not really help, the sellers I've asked do not want to ship (parts - not firearms) outside their home country. (Not everyone but most) Until we can overcome the perceived problems of exporting we are going to see ever increasing prices in our local markets.
I reckon that Enfield prices must have increased by around 50% in the last 12 months or so and I'm sure we'll continue to see these increases in the coming years.
Q) When demand outstrips supply what happens ?
A) The one with the deepest pockets wins !!!
