A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Looks like the forend has been severely sanded down- note how the trigger guard is proud of the wood...a lot of wood is missing here. Also the finish is indicative of the original patina having been all sanded off.
Also, on the first go round of this ad he mentioned a frosted bore but that seems to have been removed.

Look at the bluing - or lack thereof - on the handguard ring and front handguard cap, compared with the rest of the parts. Front handguard isn't properly fitted. The wood does look sanded. I suspect that the rifle is a restoration, a restocked sporter.
