S-marked trigger guard?
Anybody recall what the "S" is for that is stamped on some '03 trigger guards (in the region covered by the floor plate, between the magazine well and the recess for the floorplate catch).
IIRC Brophy says it corresponds to an early guard that had the cross-pin installed to limit forward travel of the trigger (accidental bolt release). But this guard is in good shape and shows no sign of ever having the cross-pin rework.
Thanks

Togor,
The "S" was put on newly manufactured triggerguards with the correct shorter trigger slot dimension. It was to let the armorers know that it was good to go and did not need the pin. Just got one, brand spankin' new.
