    NOS Enfield barrel question

I bought some Enfield parts at a yard sale, and I basically have no idea to the value, and I was hoping y'all could help. I have a nos barrel with a star on it, and what I think is a sniper or heavy match barrel, still in the wrap. There was also a lot of parts, and several Parker Hale micrometer rear sights. Those I can find on eBay, but I have no idea what the barrels are worth. Can anyone help me out?

Sounds like a No1 MK111 Australianicon barrel...$80.00 to $110.00 depending on the day your selling. If is a heavy barrel it would be marked on the knox and be worth approx $150.00. Are the Parker Hale sights in parts or non functional? Any pictures? Ron

Pictures are coming. 5 or 6 complete, some parts, and one still in the box.
Thanks very much for the reply.

I reckon an Australianicon HB ( "H" marked) would bring a bit more than US$150 if you can reach the right folk. A 7.62 barrel might do rather better than a .303" bbl. How long is it?

Depends on your location too. If you're in Oz I'm pretty sure selling an H barrel on ebay will a) get you banned from ebay and then b) arrested for attempting to export important firearms parts (as I was involved with 2 years ago for buying one from Aus, the seller was a second hand dealer and had a surprising and very rude visit from some oz feds.) Another friend has been threatened with arrest for selling parker hale aperture sights from Aus for export on ebay and she is still quaking and only sells within Oz.
I restore and sell the occassional aperture sight on ebay for export from NZicon but now have the proper export permits after having my sights siezed at the airport mail center 2 months ago.
Oh, and its also against ebay policy and you will get blocked, to sell firarms parts out of or into the USAicon, been there too recently, and as a result USA is a blocked country for my ebay sales of enfield anything. If I run even one ad allowing it to show in the USA it gets stopped about 48 hours later.
My point is, er, be careful ... if you want some tips feel free to IM me ...
    Where are you ...?

The heavy barrel is 27 1/2 inches long and still in the cosmolene and the wrap. I can find no visible markings without cleaning it off.
The other barrel is marked with a star (?) and a "7". They may be some other markings but I can't make them out.

Doesn't sound like a Lee-Enfield barrel if it's 27 inches. An SMLE or No4 barrel should be 25.2 inches, while a Long Lee barrel should be 30.2 inches. Any chance of close-ups of the chamber-end of the barrel?

    Cheers,
    Matt

That looks like a commercial hammer rifled barrel to me and doesn't seem to have the shallow Enfield knox form pattern.............

Here's the last round of photos of the mystery barrel. I cleaned off some of the cosmo and found no markings. It appears that the threads match up with the NOS Enfield barrel.

    Thanks again to everyone.
