    3 1944 Garands

This picture is of my father and two buddies, while on manuevers in 1944, in Louisianna. In Feb. 1945 they went to the ETO and were in the Rhine Crossing with the 139th Airborne Engineers/17th AB Division.

What a wonderful picture, you are fortunate to have this family history.

Here's a pic of my dad on Hollandia, New Guinea in July 1944. He was in the 503rd PIR.

My Dad is the one on the left. He was 19 at the time.

    Gary-
Your Dad probably ate some of the same dirt as my father in 1944. He was also in Louisiana at the same time. He was training with the 75th Infantry Division. They were getting ready to go to Europe which would have been in mid-summer, 1944.

    Great picture!!!

    Rifleman -
Don't know, but I suspect both our Dad's must have some time on leave in LA. As far as I know that was the only time he was in LA, but I remember Dad saying that Cajun's sure liked to have a good time and were great folks.
